وصل الرئيس الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون الاثنين إلى دمشق في زيارة غير مسبوقة، هي الأولى لرئيس دولة غربية كبرى إلى سوريا منذ تولي الرئيس أحمد الشرع السلطة أواخر عام 2024 بعد إطاحة نظام بشار الأسد، كما شاهد مراسل لوكالة فرانس برس.

وخلال زيارته التي تستمر حتى الثلاثاء، سيدعو ماكرون، وفق ما أفاد قصر الإليزيه للصحافيين، إلى "سوريا حرة وتعددية تحترم جميع مكوناتها"، وتضطلع بـ"دور في تهدئة التوترات" في الشرق الأوسط.
